The University of Central Florida (UCF) announces multiple tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks to be filled by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). This hiring program is part of a comprehensive growth plan to significantly increase the faculty size. Candidates with backgrounds in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related disciplines will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with research expertise in manufacturing, energy for sustainability, aerodynamics, space systems, multi-disciplinary optimization, and mechatronics. In order to obtain tenure, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research and service commensurate with rank. The MAE department offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs. Both BSAE and BSME programs are ABET-accredited. A new M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering was launched Fall 2016. The department is home to 37 full-time faculty members, several adjuncts, and the Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER). The reputation of the department is continually growing with numerous faculty achievements including NSF CAREER, ONR and DTRA Young Investigator Awards, and fellowships in professional societies. Several students also receive NSF and NASA graduate fellowships.
